Jim Ganger AIFD began his formal floral education in 1984 after attending California State College in San Bernardino. He continued his education through advanced floral design classes at the Teleflora Education Center in Oklahoma City. He has also attended “Design Encounter” classes in Oregon, Arkansas, and Hawaii.
Sharing his expertise through teaching has led Jim to teach throughout the United States, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan. He also served as a judge for the Pacific Rim (All Asian) Design Cup held in Taipei, Taiwan, in November of 1995. He was part of the Charisma Float Co. design team in 1996 and 2000 Tournament of Roses Parade held in Pasadena, California, and the Academy Awards design team in Los Angeles, California in 1998, 2000 through today.
Jim enjoys all styles of design, from classic to imaginative. He is a firm believer that education and experimenting with new ideas and concepts will keep you excited about your work as a designer. His work has appeared in PFD (Professional Floral Designer) magazine, Flowers& magazine and in floral selection guides. He was also a co-presenter of a program at AIFD’s national symposium in Dallas, Texas in 1997. He represented the United States in an international design competition held in Manila, Philippines in June, 2000.
Jim was inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers in 1993. He is a past president of the South Central Region of AIFD and served as chairman of AIFD’s Membership Committee. He is a past president of the Ozark Florist Association, and a member of Teleflora’s prestigious team of Education Specialists.
