Wilton Hardy, AIFD, AAF, PFCI, FSMD, is a veteran florist with a career spanning over a half century in all phases of the floral industry. He successfully owned and managed his own flower business, along with his wife Margaret, for over thirty years. His experience ranges from delivery to designer to owner and general manager.
He has appeared as a designer, commentator and educator on numerous panels, both nationally and internationally. Wilton is the recipient of numerous state, allied and national awards for design and headdress competitions. His design work has appeared in many national trade publications and wire service selection and wedding guides. He is a certified floral design judge and is called upon frequently for his expertise.
Wilton is a member of the Society of American Florists and has served on SAF’s Professional Development Committee. He is also a member of the American Academy of Floriculture (AAF) and is a Past Trustee of the Professional Floral Communicators International (PFCI). He is a recipient of PFCI’s prestigious Tommy Bright Award, given for excellence in commentary and service to the industry. Wilton is also a Florida State Master Designer.
A past president of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), both national and southern chapters, he was honored with the Institute’s highest accolade, the Award of Distinguished Service to AIFD, designating him a Fellow of the Institute and granting him life membership. A former president of Florida State Florist Association, he was elected to “A Place in the Sun,” the Florida State Florists’ Hall of Fame for dedication and service to the floral industry. Wilton is a member of Teleflora’s acclaimed Education Specialist team.
