Kevin Ylvisaker AIFD, PFCI, a freelance designer in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, has more than thirty-seven years of experience as a retailer, wholesaler, and educator. He has assisted in developing educational workshops, has commentated, presented design programs and taught hands-on workshops throughout the country.
Kevin is a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), is a past president of the organization, and presented a design program at the 2000 National Symposium in Orlando, Florida. He has also served on AIFD’s national membership committee. He is a member of Professional Floral Commentators International (PFCI), is a design director for Smithers-Oasis, and is a past president of the Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Florists Association (WUMFA).
Kevin was a member of the design teams for the inaugurations of George Bush, Sr. and Bill Clinton. In 1997, Kevin served as a judge for the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. He is a charter member of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Alumni Association.
Internationally, Kevin has designed and judged for wholesalers, associations, floral organizations, and wire services. He has traveled to Yokohama, Japan, where he taught floral design at the Musa School. He has taught and presented programs in England, Ireland, Taiwan, Singapore, Puerto Rico and Canada. Kevin’s designs have appeared in Flowers& magazine, in the Teleflora Selection Guide and the Teleflora Wedding Guide.
In his leisure time, Kevin enjoys relaxing with his hobby of garden railroading.
